Day 11 - A Deceased Person You Wish You Could Talk to

“If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever.” (The Crow)

Dear Grandpa,

Can I please get a moment of your time? I know you are resting peacefully and I hate to disturb you, but there's so much on my heart.  Lately I've been curious about your life. Wondering if you had any regrets?  Is there some words of wisdom that you would love to pass along to your kids and their children? I wish I had a moment to sit with you and share stories about what my mother was like as a child? Was she honestly a shy grade A student and athlete? Grandpa, did you know one of my favorite memories was the time we went hunting together? I know it was something that you enjoyed doing and I felt honored that you allowed me to join you. I have many memories of you being tough and stern, but I can also recall your laugh. The way you would tilt your head back and just let it out. For some odd reason the image of you laughing is imprinted in my head.  Even though you chastised us I love you, because you helped mold my mother into the woman that she is today. I wish you could see her now. Gone is the little timid girl with pigtails. She's a caregiver, nurturer, sassy woman. Well I don't want to take up all of your time. Let me end this letter by saying the one thing that was never said enough:
I love you.

Affectionately yours,

Beautifully Flawed
