Day 4 — My Sibling

It was nice growing up with someone like you - someone to lean on, someone to count on... someone to tell on!  (Unknown)

Dear Siblings,
There were so many benefits growing up with you guys. It was nice always having someone around who could offer support, love, friendship, and understanding on a level that a parent or friend simply cannot. Our sibling rivalry has taught me how to manage conflict and negotiate solutions, because unlike friends I'm kind of sorta stuck with you. You both mean the world to me and I hate to see you guys in pain. We have always been a close little band of misfits, but life's little hiccups has made our bond stronger these past few years. It's hard to believe that we are now adults with our own little lives, bills, problems, and families. Even with all these things going on I love that we still make time for one another. I am proud of the individuals that you both have become.

"Sibling relationships...outlast marriages, survive the death of parents, resurface after quarrels that would sink any friendship. They flourish in a thousand incarnations of closeness and distance, warmth, loyalty and distrust." (Erica E. Goode)

Affectionately Yours,
Beautifully Flawed
